WatchOS 10 to Deliver Major Upgrades for Apple Watch—Even Older Models
Apple's highly anticipated watchOS 10 is set to deliver major software upgrades, enhancing the user experience for existing Apple Watch models. Despite minimal hardware advancements this year, software improvements promise to reinvigorate older models.

The forthcoming watchOS 10 is reportedly set to bring significant upgrades to the Apple Watch experience, even for existing models like the Apple Watch 8. Renowned tech journalist Mark Gurman hinted at notable UI changes in the next watchOS version, transforming the existing user experience without the need for a hardware upgrade.
Gurman, in his Power On newsletter for Bloomberg, shared his perspective on the upcoming watchOS changes, stating that substantial upgrades are in store. Though he didn't elaborate on the specifics, watchOS 10 is expected to boast significant improvements unlike its counterpart, iOS 17.
Apple enthusiasts won't have to wait long for more details, as the company is likely to reveal watchOS 10 during the WWDC 2023 conference, commencing on June 5th. Developers can look forward to the beta version launching during the event, followed by public betas. However, the final watchOS 10 release is anticipated to coincide with the Apple Watch 9 launch, around September.
Hardware-wise, the Apple Watch 9 might not bring groundbreaking innovations, as Gurman suggests it will closely resemble the Apple Watch 8. Consequently, Apple seems to be prioritizing software changes over hardware advancements this year. Watch users with older models could potentially benefit from these updates without purchasing a new device. Indeed, 2024 is rumored to be a massive year for Apple Watch hardware, with potential releases like Apple Watch Ultra 2, Apple Watch SE 3, and the Apple Watch 10, possibly dubbed Apple Watch X.
Although Gurman's predictions should be taken with caution, his impressive track record lends credibility to the possibility of major software transformations on the horizon. Such improvements could serve to reinvigorate existing Apple Watches, possibly delaying the need for users to upgrade their devices.
Moreover, Apple's recent patent developments suggest that the AirPods case could get a makeover, with a touchscreen and app controls, making it more similar to an Apple Watch. As the no-code industry advances, it is possible that the AppMaster.io platform could be a game-changer in the realm of low-code and no-code app development, allowing users to create powerful native apps for their smartwatches and smartphones.
