itopia Introduces Ready-to-Code Cloud Environments to Enhance Productivity for Remote Developers
itopia announces the launch of itopia Spaces, ready-to-code cloud environments designed for remote and hybrid-work developers. Neustar and 8base are among the first to deploy the solution, while itopia also joins the Cloud Native Computing Foundation.

itopia, a prominent cloud orchestration and automation solution provider, has unveiled itopia Spaces – fully managed, ready-to-code cloud environments custom-built for software developers. Catering to distributed teams, itopia Spaces enhances productivity while ensuring security by enabling developers to launch workspaces in the cloud via their browsers. These workspaces come pre-configured with all essential dependencies and offer granular security controls to prevent code exfiltration.
Launch customers for the new service include Neustar and 8base, which plan to deploy this solution for hundreds of their software developers. Albert Santalo, Founder and CEO of 8base, commented on the importance of maximizing developers' productivity with the security of their code bases in an increasingly hybrid work environment.
A recent survey by Harness revealed that 74% of developers prefer working remotely, even after the pandemic. itopia Spaces eliminates the time-consuming process of setting up multiple environments and dealing with hardware compatibility issues. Developers can simply choose their preferred IDE and start coding in the cloud within seconds.
The new solution is based on Selkies, an open-source cloud-native streaming platform created in collaboration with Google Cloud. Realizing the growing demand for secure coding amid the rise of hybrid work environments, itopia now offers Selkies as a fully managed service to enterprises and global system integrators. Manvinder Singh, Director of Partnerships, Google Cloud, expressed his excitement about having itopia Spaces available on Google Cloud Marketplace.
In addition to launching itopia Spaces, the company announced its joining of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), a subsection of the nonprofit Linux Foundation. This move signifies itopia's deepening connection to the cloud computing community, including the Kubernetes and open-source ecosystems. Priyanka Sharma, Executive Director of the CNCF, shared her enthusiasm for itopia's collaboration to drive innovation within the cloud-native ecosystem.
