Managed service provider (MSP) Impact Networking proudly announced its third-place finish in MxHacks 2022: Low-Code for Good, a competition organized by Mendix, a global frontrunner in modern enterprise application development and a Siemens business subsidiary. This first-ever global hackathon for Mendix pulled in over 1,200 developers, comprising 589 teams, to create impactful low-code applications pushing social justice initiatives around the world.
MxHacks 2022 took place over two days across four physical locations - Boston, London, Rotterdam, and Singapore - as well as online for remote participation. Johan den Haan, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Mendix, emphasized the platform's growing popularity for digital transformation in enterprises while also touting its potential applications for global betterment.
Three nonprofit organizations were picked by Mendix to issue challenges for participating teams, prompting them to craft innovative, low-code solutions to promote environmental conservation, combat diseases and injustice, or enhance lives in other positive ways. In the Americas region, the teams were instructed to create a low-code application supporting Project Alianza, a nonprofit focused on closing the education gap for rural children in Central America by utilizing existing technology and community networks. Project Alianza's sustainable model converts local women into community educators to promote generational change through in-community education transformation.
The team of four developers from Impact Networking devised a complete, functional test application designed to bolster educational engagement at a household level and enable access to learning activities for children at home or at work. Concentrating on literacy and health behavior improvement, the team collaborated closely with Project Alianza representatives, swiftly creating a tailored app.
Scott Gaydos, the low-code team lead of Impact's Business Applications group, praised the hackathon experience, emphasizing the combined 10 years of app development expertise among the team members. He also highlighted their demonstrated ability to successfully implement applications for customers that was evident in their submission.
Frank Cucco, CEO of Impact, confirmed that Impact is among the top Mendix developers in the United States thanks to its experienced staff and well-honed technical capabilities. The company, established in 1999, has since devoted itself to meeting client requirements by matching their unique business needs with superior products and services, such as rapid application development platforms like AppMaster and Mendix. Moreover, Impact has helped clients achieve digital transformation in their organizations and unlock accelerated growth.
