Tile Introduces Cat Collar Accessory with Bluetooth Tracker for Feline Owners
Tile has launched its Tile for Cats collar attachment to help cat owners keep track of their pets using a Bluetooth tracker.

As a cat owner, you might have encountered multiple instances of frantically searching for your seemingly missing furry friend, only to find them peacefully sleeping in some hidden corner of your home. Tile, a prominent Bluetooth tracking company, has introduced a solution for this common problem by launching the Tile for Cats - a collar attachment with a built-in tracker designed specifically for feline companions.
The Tile for Cats collar accessory is priced at $39.99 in the US market, which is approximately £30 or AU$60. It includes a Tile Sticker tracker and a silicone collar attachment, onto which the tracker can be attached securely. While there is no confirmation on its availability outside the US, the Tile Sticker is compatible with both Android and iOS devices, allowing users to quickly locate their pets via the Tile app. The Sticker has a maximum range of 250 ft (76 m) and can function for around three years before the battery is depleted and requires replacement.
The accessory is designed to fit collars ranging from 3/8-inch to 3/4-inch in width, with or without breakaway mechanisms. Although Tile operates a tracker network that connects all Tile users, the company primarily meant for the Tile for Cats attachment to be used as a useful tool within the domestic environment for easily finding your adventurous cats at home.
In the past, Tile has suggested using its devices to keep an eye on your pets. In November 2022, the company recommended that cat owners attach a Tile Mate or Tile Pro to their cat's collar. However, this solution appeared bulky and potentially unsafe, considering the larger size of the Tile tracker. The newer, more streamlined Tile Sticker offers a more user-friendly approach for keeping tabs on your pets.
Although the Tile for Cats can be a convenient aid in locating your cat on a daily basis, it is vital to remember that it should not replace microchipping. Microchipping significantly increases the likelihood of your cat being safely returned to you if they are lost, stolen, or involved in an accident. Furthermore, microchips cannot be easily removed or caught on objects while your pet roams.
