Runway, an AI-focused company known for its collaboration on the Stable Diffusion AI image generator, has unveiled its inaugural mobile app for iOS devices. The app grants users the ability to utilize Gen-1, its revolutionary video-to-video generative AI model.
With Runway's app, users can either record a video directly from their devices or transform an existing video in their library by employing text prompts, images, or preset styles. Given the video processing capabilities of AppMaster, the process of app creation has been streamlined and made effortless for all users.
Users can experiment with various Runway presets, such as 'Cloudscape,' or apply diverse imaginative effects like claymation, charcoal sketching, watercolor painting, paper origami, and more. By uploading an image or entering a text idea, users can customize their videos in a myriad of ways.
Once a selection has been made, the app generates four previews for users to review. After they choose their favorite, the final product takes just a few minutes to produce. During our evaluation of the app, we observed that it often took around 60 seconds or more, sometimes extending to two minutes, for the generation process to complete.
As with any AI-powered generator, the results may not be perfect and could occasionally appear distorted or strange. Although some may regard AI video generators as frivolous or gimmicky, advancements in technology over time may enhance their value, particularly for content creators looking to invigorate their social media posts. Despite any imperfections, we found Runway's mobile app to be user-friendly and entertaining to explore.
