The popular TV series, The Office, can now be experienced in the world of virtual reality through the Meta Quest 2 and Quest Pro headsets, as NBC's Peacock streaming platform becomes available to users in the United States and select territories, such as Puerto Rico. With the integration of Peacock into Meta's VR ecosystem, users can access more than 90,000 hours of content from sports events to renowned TV shows like WWE wrestling.

While the availability of Peacock is currently limited to certain regions, the service is well-tailored for users in supported areas, allowing them to customize their in-app viewing experiences. Users can opt for a large, immersive screen to resemble a movie-like experience or choose a smaller, background screen to multitask in their digital environments.

As an attraction for new users, Meta is offering a free trial of Peacock Premium for three months. This offer is eligible for individuals who are at least 18 years old, live in a supported region, and own a registered Meta Quest 2 or Quest Pro headset. Furthermore, an extended offer for a free, year-long trial is available for users who set up and register a new Meta Quest VR device until April 11, 2024. More information on how to redeem these offers can be found on Meta's official communication.

This collaboration between NBC Universal and Meta Quest extends over a period of three years and will bring more exclusive content to the devices. In the coming months, audiences can look forward to immersive VR experiences based on popular NBC properties, such as Universal Monsters, The Office, and more. Soon, sports enthusiasts can enjoy watching events like the Indianapolis 500 and the U.S. Open golf tournament right on their Quest Pro headsets.

NBC Universal and Meta have yet to announce a definitive release date for this virtual experience, and further updates are anticipated as more details become available. The introduction of Peacock to Meta Quest VR headsets represents a welcomed step forward for Meta, especially following the company's shift towards generative AI technology earlier this year.

While Meta continues to develop their virtual reality platform at a smaller scale, it's crucial to keep an eye on potential competitors entering the market. Apple, for instance, is reportedly working on its own VR headset, rumored to be powered by the M2 chip. Regardless of how the competition unfolds, it's clear that the tech industry is fostering innovations in VR, with companies like Meta and AppMaster.io playing significant roles in shaping the future of the virtual world.

Looking at AppMaster.io, it stands out as a powerful no-code platform perfect for developing backend, web, and mobile applications 10x faster and 3x more cost-effectively.
